Five months down. Here’s the latest on Hay-Bug:
- It is so fun to think about all of Hailey’s mundane firsts and superlatives: the coldest day she’s ever experienced, her first fire drill, her first time getting kicked out of a bar, etc.
- All along, Dan and I have really had to resist the urge to feed Hailey table scraps as we would Eddie. I cheated once and dabbed the tiniest speck of frosting on her lips while decorating her baptism cake, and another time I did the same with some ice cream. We have yet to really start Hailey on food. She is a milk baby only thus far.
- Hailey loves that furry mutt of hers, Eddie. He makes her giggle all the time. And we no longer are uptight about Eddie being around Hailey. We have to yell at him for licking her (see video), but he no longer gets too hyper around her. I’m sure that will change once she starts moving more.
- Hailey began rolling on a regular basis right at the 4-month mark. A couple weeks later, she did her first continuous roll to really cover some ground. It is so much fun to watch her build those little baby muscles. She’s not yet a rolling machine, but she loves hanging out on her tummy now.
- Hailey celebrated her 5-month mark by sleeping over 9 hours last night! Thank you, sweet baby. What a treat! Let’s make this the new norm.
- Those little teeth must be working their way to the surface. Everything goes in Hailey’s mouth. So that means Hailey is now really into her toys, especially her monkey toy from Aunt Marie. We’ve had some fussy nights too, but still nothing too awful.
- Her hair fell out 🙁
