Iron House

My book club pick for the year was Iron House, by John Hart.  I picked this book in a quick Meijer run at about 6 AM back in December when Hailey decided it was time to rise early on a Sunday. I had heard of the author, and his last name stood out in my memory for obvious reasons.  I gave the jacket a quick skim and it sounded like a coming of age story about a pair of adolescent orphan boys in the American Southeast.

Well, I was a bit off-target, but all of us who read this agreed that we were easily sucked into the suspense and found this much more substantial reading than some of the other bestselling thrillers out there.  I’m not sure why the author was compelled to include romance, mobsters, murder, psychiatric issues, and more.  If you want a book that crams all that in, this book is for you.
