- Hailey now has a lot of words, even if only we can understand them. Some of the most commonly used are: bow, cheese, please, thank you, milk, baby, poo poo, and more.
- Raking: her new favorite activity. Doesn’t matter if the rake is full size.
- Still loves accessories: shades, bows, necklaces, hats.
- I’ve found it interesting to see her recognizing things across different contexts. She can spot all kinds of dogs, and she can hear them barking and woof right back to them. The funniest occurrence was when we figured out she was mooing at dogs that have short hair and coloring similar to the cows in her storybooks. Good try, Hailey.
- Hailey blows everyone a kiss. From Grandma to strangers, there’s no holding back.
- Turns out Hailey is a repeat biter at day care, and sometimes with Mom and Dad. You can tell she bites when frustrated for the most part. At day care, the teachers work on teaching her how to tell the other kids that she doesn’t like something instead of biting, and Dad got a taste of this himself this month. He was stroking Hailey’s hair and shoulders and first she shrugged away and then she shook her finger at him and said “No.” That sure put Dad in his place!
- She is developing her tastes and is becoming a bit picky this month. There are weeks where I swear all she’ll eat is graham crackers, and then suddenly graham crackers are out and goldfish crackers are in. Same for books. If you start into the wrong book, she’ll give it a good swipe and start pointing at the one she wants.
- 4/10 was one of the harder day care drop off for this mama because Hailey was just so darn cute and happy. After I put Hailey down with the other toddlers, and while I was procrastinating before leaving, this happened: One of the boys is staring Hailey down pointing at his T-shirt, which reads, “I’m too sexy for my diaper.” Hailey flashes her belly in response. Hmmm…we may need to keep an eye on this one.
