When asked what she wants from Santa, Hailey paused, gave it some deep thought, and replied, “A present.”
Upon hearing the same question again a few days later, she answered, “A little present.” How sweet.
She has since shared that she would like an Elsa present from Santa. We’ll see if she’s been good, but I have a feeling Santa is going to cave.
Christmas was a joy this year with both of the kids. We spent the holiday at the farm with the Harts, though it took some determination to get there. Sam came down with a case of RSV earlier in the week. We were doing round the clock breathing treatments, working hard to keep the boy hydrated, and trying to get some sleep ourselves. And then there was Christmas to prep for. Team Hart pulled through with some bonding over late-night preparations and it was all well worth it.
When Christmas morning rolled around, we managed to get Hailey ready for church and out the door without any talk of Santa. Guess we should enjoy the lack of urgency while we can! To top it off, Hailey later reported her favorite part of Christmas was church. Did someone pay her to say that? She was little terror during the service, so maybe she did honestly have fun. In any case, family, food, church, presents—it all came together for Sam’s first Christmas.
