Cutting for Stone

I finally finished Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese.  This book makes the top 10 list for a couple of my friends.  I wouldn’t rank it quite that high, but it’s definitely a work of literature.  The writing is beautiful and the tale is eye-opening.  I think my enjoyment was simply diminished because I had to return the audio book to library before I was done and then I checked it out again a few months later.  I probably lost some of the detail and background along the way.  If you’ve read too many beach reads lately, pick this one up for an engaging alternative.
